Love Life Together

Another page for my letters album... this one is using the prompt- send love and of course, I was sending my love to Eric! By the way, just in case you didn't know-- Sara and Crystal host these prompts on each of their blogs and everyone is more than welcome to play along or work at your own pace-- which is what I've done!

And, ... and this excites me... it made GSO at DST today!!!

My Loves

This page is for the Grow with Love: January Letters:: Day 4 ... the prompt was about scrapping ourselves right now, what we, the scrapper loves! And by the way, right now I'm IN LOVE with the journaling bling by Jenn Barrette that's currently available at the lily pad! LOVE IT!!!
My Journaling:
Today is Wednesday, February 23, 2011. My life right now seems to be revolve around work, TV, scrapbooking at my family. We will skip the work part since that is pretty boring. It’s winter, so we’re usually stuck indoors which means, TV addiction time. I’m in love with American Idol, despite the new judges. I spend all weekend waiting for Glee. And even thought we record it, I still refuse to miss it. I will also watch any law and order type shows, just because they are a decent waste of time. Now, as for the computer... scrapbooking and gallery surfing is what I like to do best. So far this year I’ve done about 25 layouts which is a HUGE accomplishment compared to every other year. Then there’s photography. I love to take pictures, even though I have plain point-and-shoot camera. Every time I take a photo, I think about how I will scrapbook it, even kit ideas that’s how obsessed I am. I’m also trying to get my body healthy again, so I’m cooking more, which I love. I can’t believe we ate out so much last year!! I also love playing the Kinect... it’s such a great indoor workout that doesn’t feel like exercise. At the end of the day, I love going to bed with Eric and Rylee. Hearing that little chatterbox tell her “Once upon a time” stories is just a priceless part of my day. As it gets warmer I’m sure my loves will change. Less TV, more outside time which means, more family time which is my number one love of all.

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique

This is my first Rylee page from our Disney trip... I should have millions more!

The journaling is about her special treat while @ WDW_- going to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique for the full royal treatment: hair, nails, dress, shoes! She loved it. They thought she was so cute, they put her in the front window and did everything!

Your Prince

This is another page for Rylee's book... which consists of things I'd like her to know and remember when she get's a little older!

Journaling:
Wait for your prince charming. To my dearest, Rylee: In your life, you will come across many boys. Some will seem perfect, some will break your heart. Always remember, if they seem too good to be true, he probably is. Wait for that special one. Only you and God will know when you’ve found him. But be patient. All good things come to those who wait.

R.Y.L.E.E.

Well, this is page #3 in Rylee's book! I fiddled with this page for two days until I was finally satisfied with the outcome! I used a template from Grow with Love: Kids by Sara Gleason and Crystal Livesay and it's
Prompt #3: Word Play.

The goal was to create a page using the letters in your child's name to describe them... an acrostic. The lists below each circle was an afterthought because I realized with the elements and papers, it was really hard to see the actual words.

WOW!! This page got me the first ever GSO on the Gallery Standouts Blog!

My Little Cupcake

This is my first of MANY layouts using the February BYOC products from The Lilypad. I create this using a template by Amy Martin for the February template challenge!
The photo of Rylee was taken Mother's Day 2009. Someone, I can't remember who, bright these chocolate, bright pink cupcakes. They were nasty, I mean they tasted like paste. Just Gross!! But Rylee loved them. Her face loved them too. That pink icing stayed around for a little while too! No matter how many times I scrubbed your face, it was still pink!

What's in a name?

This is my 2nd page using the ]Grow With Love: Kids Edition templates & prompts! I used Prompt#2: What's in a name. This is a great set of prompts... for me especially because I haven't scrapped anything, well almost anything, of my daughter's first year. I've may have scrapped the photos, but not the story behind them! I'm excited to finish and one day print them!

Journaling:
When we found out you were going to be a little girl we went to work searching for a name. We didn’t want a common name so we made sure to stear clear of those on the most popular lists. We found your name in a book and we knew instantly it was the one! ooks, we say Rylee. Of course they had 3 or 4 other spellings of it, but this one, we like. It was different! Your middle name, is my middle name. That was your dad’s idea! You have Mommy & Daddy’s name!

Free to be Me

Wow! This layout feel together easily. Love this kit, and this prompt from Sara and Crystal is a great one. I got to explore me, in a positive light instead of always seeing the bad! The lyrics around the actual journaling is from a song by Francesca Battistelli "Free to be Me"! LOVE that song, Love most of her stuff! At the top of the journaling paragraph is the chorus from the song, then my journaling:
No matter how old I get, I never feel quite good enough. I tend to be a pessimistic person anyway, but I always feel inadequte. But you know what, Life is not about the have nots but about the haves. I am blessed. I am a good person. I am a Christian. I am faithful. I am loving, caring, considerate, compassionate, and occasionally OCD person. I am loved. I am blessed.

This page my GSO at Me So Scrappy on Thursday!! Everytime I see my page get recognized it shocks me!! I'm like.. "wow, they liked little ole me"

To be a Mommy

This was a tough-- yet-- easy page to complete. I used the Grow with Love- Kids Edition- Template 10- {{Prompt #1: Remember... did you always?}} which is by Sara Gleason and Crystal Livesay available @ TLP.
Journaling:
When I was a little girl, of course I knew I wanted kits. I wanted 3:: Boy, Girl, Boy! And then, in high school, after having seizures for almost 10 years, I thought that it would be horrible of me to bring a child in this world that could possibly have epilepsy and have to deal with that disease forever, as well. So, at 16 I decided that I would not have kids.
Then, you came along. Miss Rylee Lynn, you’ve changed my life forever! Before you, I was dead set on not having kids, but now I don’t know what I would have done without you! You, and your dad, are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I was blessed to have been seizure free all during pregnancy and so far, there have been no signs of seizures in you. I pray that it stays like that forever!

Projects:: 2011

Well, it is day 1 of month 2 in this great new year, and I'm already ending and beginning new products. Right now I'm working on about 3 "themed" scrapbook albums (love letters, Rylee, and Marriage from the GWL series). It is not surprised that I dropped out of p365 during week 1. Yep. It's sad, I know. If I had a better camera I think I would take more pictures, but I hate the one I have now... which is why I'm saving up for a DSLR. However, I am trying to still take pictures at least a couple days a week of not only the events, but our daily happenings. At the beginning of each new month I'm trying to do a 2 page summery spread of the previous month using those everyday pictures. AND, instead of waiting until the middle of December to do my 2012 calendar, I'm doing the calendar topper at the end of each month!!! I have *started* the January one, it's just not finished yet.

Here is page 1 from the Marriage Album! I used the template and prompts by Sara & Crystal which were originally held on their blog, but since that set was months ago, you have to look into the Archives. Well worth it I tell you for some template inspiration!

Journaling:
As one of the key components of a relationship, Compromise is one area where I feel we need a little work. While we are alike in most ways, there are still some things that we just cannot agree on. Being stubborn to the core, means we both could learn to give a little. Some days are easier than others, but, no matter what happens, how far apart we are on some things, we do a good job of getting over it. We fight, argue, stop speaking for a short time, then it’s over and done with. But this means, we never get that issue resolved. Therefore, this year I hope we can try to finish those arguments, even though they may be tough, instead of just pushing them away.

U R Silly

Oh my goodness. When Rylee came out of her bedroom that night with this makeup all her face, I cracked up!! It was a gift from the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique as Disney World and until then, we did a pretty good job of keeping it away from you. But somehow you found it, and covered your face in it!!

Wild Thing

I have always loved this photo! I may have even scrapped with it before, not sure! lol. But when I saw the fun colors of this kit, I had to have it. And it just goes perfect with this picture of Rylee being tickled on the couch!

Good Times

This was apart of the January Scraplift Challenge at TLP and I lifted this layout from Sahlin Studio!
Journaling:
Here we are at our Walt Disney World hotel, the Caribbean Beach Resort. These were taken while exploring the resort soon after we checked in. I have absolutely no idea what is going on in these pictures nor why you all were laughing uncontrollably! I know Mom and Shelby were posing for the camera while sitting on a cannon. Then I believe Taylor jumped on the back of it, and there was some talk of him making the whole thing fall over, since it wasn’t exactly bolted in place above the lake. Either way, these were some of the best “unposed” photos from the trip and I’m happy to have them.

This Moment

I Love this photo! Yes, it's my daughter, so of course I love it! BUT I LOVE the texture, coloring, everything on this photo. I actually originally edited it sometime during the Summer 2010, but it's just now making it's way onto a page. This was one of the first photos that I played with textures, like real textures from a professional photographer/designer online. Sorry, right now I can't remember whose textures, but I know the rest of the photo editing was done using actions from My Four Hens.
Anyway... The journaling:
Miss Rylee. This photo is one of many from your third birthday portrait session at Sears. You were such a little lady. No goofy or silly smiles on that afternoon, you were all about business. That could have been because we bribed you with a carousal ride after we were finished, but no matter what method we used, none could have produced a better result than that musical horse. photos turned our gorgeous!

Save: One little word

I have finally found my *one little word* for 2011. Don't know what it is?? Visit Ali Edwards Blog for more information. When creating this page, I incorporated one of the daily prompts that came with this template: Resolve. It was the perfect piece of the puzzle for my one little word layout!

Definition of Save: to rescue or deliver from danger or harm. To preserve or guard from destruction or loss. To store in a computer. To put aside or reserve. To deliver from sin. To spend less. To avoid unnecessary waste or expense.
I have finally chosen my word for twenty-eleven: SAVE. Save money. Save memories. Save lives. Two years officially on our own feet, I’d like to see us finally be able to put back some cash. Whether it be for an emergency, vacation, a new home, or just for a movie, I’d like to know that we have a little saved back for a rainy day. Step 1 for saving money is already complete with the opening of our new savings account. Next, I’d like to save more memories this year. Record more, journal more, maybe even a little blog to keep up with the weekly happens of our lives. I just feel like time is flying by and I’m barely remembering it. Now, for Saving lives... that one is a two parter. I would like to take the state exam and pass to be a CNA. I would like to help preserve the physical part of the young and old as well as help save their soul. I have people very close to me, that I’d love to see saved this year. As days go by, I believe our time on earth is coming to an end, and I would hate to know that I could help save someone but instead I did nothing. So... that is my little word for 2011. Now I just hope I don’t lose sight of my goals for this new year.

Make the Most

This was a very difficult, yet easy, layout for me. There were two challenges out there calling my name: The journaling challenge at The Lilypad and the January challenge at Girl Vs. Scrap.

My list is 50 things, I want to accomplish in 2011. Now I'm sure, a lot of them will not get done, which is why I call it a bucket list, because they will spill over into the following years.
